| Saturday evening February 1st just before 1900hrs the company along with Boothwyn (40), Ogden (55), Reliance (61), Claymont (NCC 13), Medic 66-7 (Crozer EMS) and the Green Ridge (63) Rapid Intervention Team were dispatched to the 1600 block of Wisteria Way located in the Foxfield Development of Bethel Township for a building fire.
Truck 66 arrived on scene with heavy fire in the rear of a single story dwelling unknown if occupants were still inside (confirmed later occupants were not home). Engine 40 dropped a 5 inch supply line to Truck 66. Due to quickly deteriorating conditions Truck 66’s crew was ordered to evacuate the building.
Additional arriving crews assisted with protecting exposure homes on both sides of the fire building. The fire was contained to the original fire building with two neighboring homes sustaining exterior fire damage. 23 members responded to the scene staffing all 4 apparatus (Truck 66, 66-3, 66-1 and 66-8). Crews were in service for approximately 3 hours working under the command of Chief Mike Heacock (66-9).
Thank you to Eddystone Fire Co. (12) for covering the Bethel local while units were operating on Wisteria Way and for assisting with restoring the apparatus. Special thank you to Linda Mazzoli for bringing drinks and food to the station for the membership and to the Bethel Township Supervisors for their assistance at the scene.
