Thursday evening May 12th eight members participated in a basic forcible entry training class held at the Prospect Park Fire Co. (08). Prospect Park Fire Co. has a forcible entry door system which allows firefighters the ability to simulate spiking wood jambs, left hand/right hand openings and gapping both inward and outward doors. Prospect Park Fire Officers D.J. Brosnan (Deputy Chief), Kurt Rossney (Deputy Chief), Chuck Huber (Captain) and Kevin Oswald (Engine Lieutenant) instructed the class.
Special thanks to Board of Directors Chairman Lew Ogden Jr. for donating and cutting the wood pieces which are used with the door prop. The class is very informative and well taught. Departments interested in forcible entry training are encouraged to contact Prospect Park Fire Co. A link to their website is available in our links section. Thank you again to Prospect Park Fire Co. for conducting this valuable training class. We hope to come up again later in the year for the advanced class.
