| Thursday evening May 5th Bethel (66), Concordville (59) and Chester Heights (71) participated in a search and rescue drill held at Concordville. Participants were paired off rotating between Concordville's training trailer and the Delaware County Mobile Search and Rescue Training Unit.
Concordville's training trailer utilized a smoke machine to simulate low visibility conditions. Two member crews started on the top floor of the training trailer attempting to locate, put together and operate a SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus or Air Pack). After completing crews made their way down to the bottom floor to locate, put together and operate another SCBA.
Crews navigating The Delaware County Search and Rescue Training Unit maze navigated a tunnel, slide, dead ends and rafters. Thank you to the Delaware County Emergency Services Training Center for allowing all three companies the use of the mobile search/rescue trailer and to Concordville Fire Co. for serving as site host.
Bethel, Concordville and Chester Heights will train together again on Thursday June 2nd. |
