House Fire on South Garnet Mine Road

Tuesday morning April 28th just after 8am the company along with Concordville (59), Ogden (55), Boothwyn (40), Reliance (61), Medic 66 (Crozer EMS) and the Lower Chichester (39) Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Garnet Mine Road for a building fire.

Truck and Squad 66 with 9 members made the response. Medic 66 arrived and advised there was a furnace issue. Engine 59-3 dropped 300 feet of 5-inch supply line from the hydrant at Garnet Mine and Plaza Drive and deployed a 1 ¾ hose line. Truck 66 arrived on scene placed ground ladders, secured power to the furnace and removed the roof furnace vent. Squad 66 took the hydrant assignment at Garnet Mine Road and Plaza Drive. Chief 66 (J.Kane) held the assignment to units on scene to address the furnace issue. Companies wrapped up and were available within 45 minutes.
