The drill topic for Thursday evening March 5th was Solar Panel Awareness. Jeff Simpson and Tom Gaeta from Safety and Survival Training, LLC instructed the class. There are currently 58 residences in Bethel Township utilizing solar panels. The class provided the 19 members who attended with an awareness of photovoltaic systems so we can successfully operate around and make decisions on the fire ground to ensure safe operations. Topics covered included types of solar panels, why people are utilizing them, system types and the impact they have on the fire service. Thank you to Jeff and Tom for conducting the class.
