Thursday evening April 30th the company held our 2014 awards dinner. Members enjoyed a buffet dinner served by our hall caterer Renzi’s Catering.

The following members achieved a 5 year increment of service in 2014:

During the dinner both the G.Roy Dilling Award and Firefighter of The Year Awards were presented. G.Roy Dilling was one of the first administrative officers of the company and a Past President of the company. G.Roy Dilling was very dedicated to the business details of the company that needed to be addressed. During his tenure, the company funded several pieces of fire apparatus including an in-house field fire truck (the old 66-2). G.Roy Dilling's wife Edna was also very active with the fire company ladies auxiliary including serving as the ladies auxiliary President for numerous years. The G.Roy Dilling award was created upon the sudden passing of Roy. The award is presented to a member of the company who has exemplified their efforts to better the company. Glenn Davis was awarded the 2014 G.Roy Dilling Award in recognition of his faithful and outstanding service to the company and community. Glenn is a 38 year member and is currently serving his 20th year as fire company Treasurer. Pictured with Glenn is his Father Wilfred who is a 58 year life member of the company.

The Firefighter of The Year Award was created in 1973 and each year honors a member for their dedication to the firefighting (answering alarms, training, apparatus/equipment maintenance, etc.) aspects of the company. The 2014 Firefighter of the Year Award was presented to James Pierce for his faithful and dedicated service to the fire company. James logged more than 200 hours of training in 2014 including receiving his certification as Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) and recently received his Pro Board Firefighter 1 certification.
