Friday April 24th the company received notification from the Department of Homeland Security that we were selected to receive federal grant funding thru FEMA’s 2014 Assistance to Firefighter’s Grant Program.

The primary goal of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and nonaffiliated emergency medical service organizations. Since 2001, AFG has helped firefighters and other first responders to obtain critically needed equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and other resources needed to protect the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards.

The $94,477 grant award will assist our department in replacing all 22 of our SCBA’s (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus). SCBA’s (also referred to as air-paks) are devices worn by firefighters to provide breathable air in an immediately dangerous to life or health atmosphere.

Thank you to our elected township, state and federal officials for their assistance and continued support of FEMA’s AFG Program.

Special thank you to our Grant Consultant Kurt Bradley of First Responder Grants, Inc. for his guidance and direction thru the application process. Like First Responder Grants, Inc. on Facebook or visit their website at www.firstrespondergrants.com.
