Mutual Aid Assist to Concordville (59)

Wednesday evening July 7th just after 7pm the company was dispatched as part of a mutual aid assignment to assist Concordville (59) with a house fire located on Woodland Drive in Chadds Ford Township.

Engine 59-2 arrived with smoke showing from all sides of the residence & secured their own water supply. Squad & Truck 66 with 10 members both made the response. Squad 66 arrived as the second due engine & Truck 66 arrived as the third due truck. Our volunteers were committed on scene for two hours assisting with extinguishment, ventilation, overhaul & wrap up. Thank you to Upland Fire Co. (57) for covering the Bethel local while our crews were committed.

No Caption Squad & Truck Assist Concordville (59)

Firefighter Matt Hills Jr., June 28

Sunday afternoon June 27th around 1:30pm the company was dispatched as part of a mutual aid assignment to assist Concordville (59) with a building fire reported to be a dryer located on the 1800 block of North Glen Drive in Chadds Ford Township.

Squad & Truck 66 each staffed with 4 members made the response. Engine 59-2 arrived as the first due engine with nothing showing. Squad 66 arrived as the second due engine and Truck 66 arrived as the first due truck. Engine 59-2 held the assignment to units on scene. The crews from both Squad & Truck 66 assisted Engine 59-2's crew with repacking their supply line & were available within 30 minutes.

2021 Memorial Day Parades

Saturday morning just before 11am, the company was dispatched to the 1100 block of Naamans Creek Road for an automatic fire alarm. Truck and Squad 66 both made the response. While responding units were advised of a second call (assist EMS) in Bethel Township. Truck 66 continued to the automatic fire alarm call while Squad 66 handled the assist EMS call. Later around 5pm in the evening, the company was dispatched as part of a mutual aid assignment to assist Concordviille (59) with a commercial building fire reported to be in the kitchen located on the 1200 block of Wilmington West Chester Pike in Concord Township. No Caption Member Completes New Castle County Fire Recruit Class

Congratulations to Anthony LaSalvia on completing the New Castle County Fire Recruit Class #7. The course was designed to provide students with the necessary training and skills to successfully meet the requirements of NFPA 1001 standard for a Firefighter I & II and NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations.

The course, which started February 2nd, was held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 10pm and every other Saturday and Sunday from 8pm to 5pm. Training topics included fire service orientation, hose handling, hazardous materials, water rescue, ladders, tools, salvage, overhaul, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), personal protective equipment (PPE), basic EMS ... Truck Runs Covers to Marcus Hook Trainer (68)

Sunday afternoon May 23rd around 4:15pm, the company was dispatched for Truck 66 to cover Marcus Hook Trainer (68) while their crews assisted the City of Chester on a 3 alarm building fire. Truck 66 with a crew of 6 covered for 3 hours, assisted Marcus Hook Trainer's members with restoring their apparatus and received no calls for service.

Tuesday afternoon May 25th, Truck 66 returned to Marcus Hook Trainer (68) to cover while their crews assisted Upper Chichester (10) with a house fire. Truck 66 with a crew of 6 and Engine 12 (Eddystone) covered for 2 hours. Truck 66’s crew assisted Marcus Hook Trainer’s members with restoring their apparatus and received no calls for service.
