Tuesday evening June 1st at 1837hrs Concordville (59), Chester Heights (71) and the Media (23) Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) were dispatched to 76 Bittersweet Drive in Concord Township for a house fire reported to be in the bedroom. Medic 59-7A arrived reporting a working alarm. Engine 71 arrived and dropped a supply line into the scene. Engine 59-2 arrived next with Concordville Assistant Chief Mike O'Brien (59-9C) establishing command.
The assignment was upgraded adding Bethel (66), Aston-Beechwood (72), Edgmont (64) and Holmes (43) as an additional Rapid Intervention Team (RIT). Engine 66-1 with a full crew of six responded under the command of Safety Officer Lance Chandler (66-10). Engine 66-1's crew assisted with ventilation, salvage and overhaul. Crews operated on scene for approximately two hours. Thank you to Eddystone (12) for covering while Engine 66-1 was committed.
