Wednesday Afternoon Calls

Wednesday afternoon February 7th just after 12:30pm the company was dispatched as part of a mutual aid assignment to assist Upper Chichester (Boothwyn, Ogden & Reliance) with a building fire at the Boothwyn Elementary School. Engine 66 with a crew of 6 under the command of Lieutenant Scott Myers made the response. Upper Chichester companies arrived on scene with a HVAC issue and the assignment was held to Upper Chichester units.

Shortly after 2:30pm the company was dispatched to the 3400 block of Essex Way for an automatic fire alarm. Engine 66 arrived reporting unattended cooking and the assignment was held to Engine 66 and Squad 55 (Ogden).

Later in the afternoon after 3:30pm the company and Medic 66 (Crozer EMS) were dispatched to the 3100 block of Poplar Street in the Foxfield community for a carbon monoxide alarm activation. Truck and Squad 66 both made the response and arrived on scene with high carbon monoxide readings throughout building 3000. Bethel crews began evacuating residents. Engine and Squad 55 (Ogden) were dispatched to assist with evacuating residents and Medic 40 was added in the event additional medical evaluations were needed. Crews located and secured the source. Crews ventilated the building and were in service for 90 minutes. Thank you to Ogden (55), Boothwyn (40), Crozer EMS and The Bethel Township Police Department for their assistance.
