2014 Assistance to Firefighter's Grant Award

Friday April 24th the company received notification from the Department of Homeland Security that we were selected to receive federal grant funding thru FEMA’s 2014 Assistance to Firefighter’s Grant Program.

The primary goal of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and nonaffiliated emergency medical service organizations. Since 2001, AFG has helped firefighters and other first responders to obtain critically needed equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and other resources needed to protect the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards.

Saturday Afternoon Brush Fires

Saturday afternoon around 1245pm the company was dispatched to assist Concordville (59) with a large brush fire in the area of Spring Valley Road and Brinton Lake Road. Engine 66-1 and Engine 66-3 both made the response. Other responding mutual aid companies included Chester Heights (71), Longwood (CC 25), Ogden (55) and Aston Township (17).

Bethel crews assisted with extinguishment and Engine 66-1 supplied Ogden’s Brush Truck. Bethel crews were committed for approximately 90 minutes.

While wrapping up from Spring Valley Road the company was dispatched to the 3200 block of Foulk Road for a brush fire behind the Bethel Springs Elementary School. Engine 66-1, Engine 66-3, 66-8 and Brush ... (Full Story & Photos)

BBQ Night

Sunday April 26th from 1pm to 7pm the company will be holding BBQ Night. The event is all you can eat with 2 hour seating’s available from 1pm to 3pm, 3pm to 5pm and 5pm to 7pm. Adult pricing is $20 with reservation and $25 at the door. Pricing for children 12 and under is $10 with reservation and $15 at the door. The food provided by our hall caterer Renzi’s Catering will include baby back ribs, bbq chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, old bay roasted potatoes, baked beans and more. The event is BYOB. The Bethel Fire Company will be holding its annual Carnival starting Tuesday night April 21st thru Saturday night April 25th from 6pm – 10pm at the firehouse. Come enjoy rides, food and games.

Ride all night wrist bands can be purchased for $25 at the ticket booths.

2015 Easter Egg Hunt
